Love & Mersey plays the Beatles in Russian: Snova v SSSR!
The Dutch Beatles Tribute Band 'Love and Mersey' has a very special relationship with Russia and Belarus. With 'Mal Evans Memorial Band' the band members played for 10,000 enthousiastic fans at the "Beatles Forever" Festival in Minsk in 2007 and have great memories. Backstage lead singer Marcel also met Anna from Moscow there for the first time. They married last year!
As a friendly gesture to their friends and Beatles fans in the former USSR, the band recorded a unique version of the Beatles song "Back in the USSR": In Russian! The original lyrics were translated by Anna Krasnopeeva and Marcel produced a special video with film material of the visit to Minsk and Marcel's many visits to Russia.
